How much does it cost to wallpaper a room?

Cost depends on the size of the room, the wallpaper chosen and how much wall preparation is needed. We provide a free, no-obligation quote before any work starts.

Is it cheaper to wallpaper a room or paint it?

Paint is usually the cheaper option overall, since wallpaper costs more per roll and can take longer to hang. Wallpaper is a good choice where a bolder pattern or texture is wanted.

Can you wallpaper a room in a day?

A standard sized room can often be wallpapered in a day, though larger rooms, patterns that need matching, or extra wall preparation can take longer.

Will wallpaper stick to painted walls, and how long after painting can you wallpaper?

Wallpaper can usually be hung over painted walls once the paint has fully cured, generally a few weeks after painting, and once the surface has been properly prepared.

Do you remove wallpaper?

Yes, wallpaper removal is part of our preparation service before painting or re-papering.

Feature Wall Painting & Wallpapering Services

We cover two routes to the same result, a wall or a room that stands out from the rest of the house. Some jobs call for paint, a single confident colour cutting a sharp line across a wall. Others call for paper, a pattern or texture that paint can't replicate. We do both, and we'll tell you honestly which one suits the room and the budget before you commit to either.

Our feature wall and wallpapering service includes:

Feature wall painting, in flat colour, blocked colour, or ombre
Wallpaper hanging and installation, including pattern matching
Wallpaper removal and stripping, prepping old walls for a fresh start
Lining paper and plaster prep ahead of a new paper
Feature walls finished in paint or wallpaper, picked to suit the room

Feature Wall Painting

Living room with green wall-mounted built-in unit, electric fireplace, and sliding glass door leading to a backyard with patio and lawn. Hardwood floor and ceiling chandeliers.

We create painted feature walls using colour, contrast and decorative finishes suited to the space.

Our work includes accent walls, statement walls and geometric feature walls, as well as simpler painted designs where one wall needs a different colour from the rest of the room.

We work on feature walls in bedrooms, living rooms, kitchens, hallways and dining rooms, with the colour and design chosen to suit the existing space.

Wallpaper Hanging & Installation

Modern bathroom with gray textured walls, a white window sill with white orchids and decorative candle holders, a large mirror with backlighting, a black marble vanity with a vessel sink, a white toilet, and a glass shower enclosure.

We install wallpaper in a range of styles, patterns and finishes for residential and commercial spaces, working as wallpaper specialists in bedrooms, living rooms, hallways and beyond.

This includes traditional wallpaper, feature wallpaper, patterned designs and wallpaper murals, with careful fitting around corners, windows, sockets and other detailed areas.

For bathrooms and kitchens, we use vinyl or washable paper that handles steam and splashes. We hang proper pasted wallpaper, not peel-and-stick panels.

Wallpaper Removal & Preparation

We remove and strip old wallpaper properly, steaming and scoring where needed, without damaging the plaster underneath.

Walls in older Essex homes, especially those with artex or uneven plaster, often need extra prep. New plaster needs time to cure before wallpapering, and we line, patch and prepare every wall properly before new paper goes up, so it holds.

From Our Customers

“We had wallpaper fitted in our living room and are really pleased with how it turned out. The pattern lines up properly and the joins are hardly noticeable. Really neat job.”
- Sophie Turner, Billericay
“ACC removed the old wallpaper and fitted a new one in our bedroom. They worked carefully around the sockets and corners, and the whole wall looks really tidy now.”
- Daniel Brooks, Shenfield
“We wanted a feature wall in the dining room rather than changing all the walls. The colour looks great and the finish is really clean. Very happy with the result.”
- Rachel Morgan, Brentwood

- James Carter, Upminster
“We had an old paper removed and replaced with a new feature wallpaper in the lounge. The whole job was straightforward and the wall looks completely different now.”
